The Red Lick Mustangs faced off against the Chapel Hill Red Devils last night at George Dobson Field. Here are the results:
Game 1
Red Lick 4 Chapel Hill 4
The Red Lick Mustangs tied in the first game of the night by a final score of 4-4 due to time limit. Brayden Sipes went the distance on the mound, pitching 4 complete innings giving up 3 total hits and striking out 6 Red Devils. The Mustangs were led at the plate by Kamden Kyles with an inside the park home run, and Jeffrey Ives added a single with 2 RBIs on the night. Jude McKeever and Brayden Sipes also added singles for the Mustangs, with Sipes driving in a run.
Game 2
Chapel Hill 5 Red Lick 1
The Mustangs fell short in game 2 of the night by a final score of 5-1. Trent Bearden came in relief for the Mustangs and pitched 3 and 1/3 innings, scattering 2 hits and striking out 4 Red Devils. The Mustangs were led at the plate by Cannon Spohn with a double, and Kamden Kyles and Jude Mckeever added singles for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs will be back in action next Monday, 9/23 for their last home games of the season vs. the McLeod Longhorns at George Dobson Field. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30pm and game 2 will follow. The Mustangs have been working hard this season and would love to see your support for their last home stand next Monday. Go Mustangs!!
